Coach Mathon’s Corner

football-goal-postsIt was terrific to be back on the field again as we start the 2015 season. We have a great group forming and today was a great example of this group’s ability to learn. We look forward to…..warmer weather for one, but to practice #2 this Tuesday, April 28th at 6 pm.

Congratulations to coach Matt Jemmett who has been recruited and recently signed a commitment to join the St Francis Xavier University Football team. Also a very notable signing is Evan Lechlitner having spent 4 seasons with the North Bay Bulldogs also recently signed a commitment to join the York University Lions. Evan developed his love for the game with 3 years in our youth program and excelled in his 4th year with us in 2013 as an offensive lineman on our Junior Varsity Team.

Coach Jemmett will be doing alot of the drills with the players for his own training….so the players will be learning advanced football skills as everyone will be helping him prepare for his CIS football career at St Francis Xavier.

The Bulldogs is the place to develop football skills in spring and the absolute best way to do that is to play football. Everyone in grades 7 & 8 (Bantam) and Grades 9 & 10 (JV) are welcome to get a great football experience with the Bulldogs. So we still have football equipment we can hand out and there is room on our teams for more players. So let your friends know how much fun it is and bring ’em out to practice.

Football is one of those few major sports where big guys are welcome….so lets go get ’em….find your big friends and bring them out to join us….you can promise they will have fun. The season ends 2 weeks after school ends….so this spring league leaves us with lots of summer afterwards.

So have a good day at school tomorrow and Tuesday, we’ll see ya on the field!
