In the first game Saturday we saw the rookie Riders face the very strong and proficient tackling defense of the Ti-Cats. The Riders ever improving defense Led by Captain and veteran Nathaniel Major stopped the Ti-Cats early and held them to only 2 TDs in the 1st half trailing 16 – 0 at half time.  Ben Gowan scored from10 yards out while Tyson Brazeau found paydirt on a 40 yard counter play. All points were scored in the 1st and 4th quarters as the Riders played the Ti-Cats to a stalemate in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Payton Hamelin made some huge plays and netted a couple of sacks. The Riders were able to move the ball well, but not able to score. In the 4th quarter Tyson Brazeau broke another great run to score. The Riders passing game is sooo close as they are coming inches away from completing several passes during the game. In their effort to score quickly with the passing game, Ti-Cat linebacker Carson Cleator intercepted a pass and ran it back 60yards to round out the scoring 32 – 0 as he also was successful on all4 kicked PATs.
