Game 3 between the Eskimos’ big team with speed on offense face the Ti-Cats a good pursuing defense and deceptive offense. The game started off with both teams driving deep but being stopped by the opposing defense. Late in the 1st quarter the Ti-Cats Tyson Brazeau took an outside run the distance to open the scoring. On the next drive the Eskimos responded with their own scoring drive capped with a Matt Mondoux 23 yard TD run.

The tie didn’t last long as the Eskimos kicked shorter than normal to the league’s fastest big guy Kaiden Peldjak and he broke 4 tackles and sprinted 67 yards to put the Ti-Cats ahead by 6. The teams’ defenses stiffened up in the second until Ti-Cats Ben Gowan found a seam and scored from 30 yards out with 2 minutes left in the half.

The 3rd quarter was all defense displaying great tackling and pursuit holding both offenses off the scoreboard. Then the 4th quarter happened and we saw some great blocking by both teams generating some good offense. The Ti-Cats drove down to the Eskimos 1 yd line where Simon Gray scored his first TD of his career. The Eskimos put a nice drive together which saw Desmond Plumstead show his speed, scoring from 25 yards out. After stopping the Ti-Cats on the next drive, Eskimos QB Alastair Bridges hit Matt Mondoux on a perfectly executed deep pass to score from 40 yards out. Being behind by 18 the Eskimos were set to receive a kickoff, but a mishandled ball saw the Ti-Cats regain possession. The Ti-Cats marched the ball upfield finishing with a 20 yard scoring run by Ben Gowan.

The Eskimos did not lay down and continued to press and they put together a terrific drive finished by a 18 yard run by Plumstead to shrink the Ti-Cats lead. The Eskimos, within striking distance attempted an onside kickoff which was picked up in full stride by Kaiden Peldjak and he returned it to round out the scoring at 46-28 Ti-Cats.
