2015 Week 3 Riders @ Ti-Cats

In game 3 the Ti-Cats Ben Gowan scored twice in the first behind the blocking of the Ti-Cats strong offensive line, while Nathaniel Major scored a major (sorry for the pun) in the 2nd quarter to put his Riders on the board. With 2 minutes left in the half Ti-Cat QB Teagan Mathon found receiver Ben Gowan downfield and completed a pass which Gowan ran in for a 35 yard passing score. In the 3rd quarter the Riders executed a perfectly timed reverse to Derrick Modridge who scored from 35 yds out to close the Ti-Cat lead. Early in the 4th quarter Ti-Cat Erron Reid took a wide run 65 yards and found paydirt.

In the 4th quarter, Ti-Cat wingback Tyson Brazeau found a seam up the middle to score his first football TD. The Riders did not give up and showed some good rushing blocking and running as Modridge scored his 2nd major of the night on a dazzling 52 yard run. The Riders continued their comeback, but time ran out ending the game in a Ti-Cat 38 – 22 win.

2015 Week 3 Eskimos @ Argos

In game 2 the Eskimos saw their defense improve tremendously as they held the Argos to an 8 – 0 lead at the half, with the only score coming off an Eski punt returned 73 yards by Argos Riley Lavergne. Great to see the improvements in tackling this week. The Eskis opened the 3rd quarter with a 70 yard Kick Off which was returned again by Riley Lavergne to extend the lead to 16. The teams traded scores in the 4th with Riley Lavergne hauling in a 74 yard pass and run from rookie Argo QB Briar Sandy, the league’s only girl QB of 2015… and the Eskimos Devyn Tremblay scored from 10 yds out. In the end the Eskimos defense held the Argos offense to 1 TD and they managed to tie that. Great defensive battle as this tight 24 – 8 Argos win was decided by special teams.

2015 Week 3 Lions @ Stamps

The night started with a widely anticipated high scoring game between the passing Stamps & the high octane offense of the Lions. The shoot out was delivered on time and entertained the crowd to the very final whistle. The stamps opened with passing driving down to the 1 yd line before Jeff Crowe drove in for the score. The Lions Nathan Fok delivered some offensive excitement behind the blocking of his teammates and scored to tie the game on a 55 yd run. Both offenses moved the ball up and down the field with Fok and Crowe scoring again. Then the Lions missed a FG attempt and after a successful FG by the Stamps at the buzzer the Stamps had a 22 – 17 lead at the half.

Fok scored in the 3rd to bring his team to within 3 in a defensive battle 3rd quarter featuring a great interception by Cory Ricker. The 4th quarter saw the Stamps offense stumble and the Lions Matt Ferris scored a go ahead TD in the 4th. Stamps RJ Avery scored on a 20 yard pass from QB Jacob Aubertin and Fok scored again with 50 seconds left in the game . The Stamps down by 7 marched to the Lions 5 and could not punch it in as the Lions made a game winning goal line stand. Great game by both teams.
