2017 Gym Sessions

It’s that time of year again when we start getting together and working on some football skills while we wait for the fields of snow to melt.  Our gym sessions and times are listed below and will be held at West Ferris Secondary School.

There have been a couple of minor changes to the upcoming in gym sessions and for the parent player information session.  First, the parent player session is still at West Ferris on February 24th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm but is now in the cafeteria as the auditorium is not available because of a NOSSA basketball tournament being held at the school that weekend.

Now because of the NOSSA basketball tournament, the gym is no longer available for our in-gym session on the 25th so we will be starting one week later on March 04, 2017 and the rest of the schedule is listed below.  These in gym sessions are all at West Ferris Secondary School Gym, again please be respectful of the facilities and remove all outside shoes before walking into the gym.

Saturday March 04, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday March 18, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday March 25, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday April 01, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday April 08, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

If you can’t make the sessions we understand but do encourage all players to attend as many as possible this is where the coaches start the evaluation process and start to see where the player strengths are.  Plus it is always a lot of fun and you don’t want to miss out on the fun and meeting your team for the summer.

There are some important things to remember when attending West Ferris School for these sessions, and that is we are a guest of West Ferris School and as such we must treat all areas of the school with respect by not wearing outside footwear into the gym, please bring inside shoes for all training sessions (there is a place to remove outside footwear when you first enter the gym both parents and players must remove outside footwear).  We must not damage or leave any garbage around when we are done, we must leave the facilities in the same condition we receive them in if not better.

Thank you and see you all soon!!

Bantam 2016 Playoff Game

Congratulations to our Bantam team for making the playoffs. Two years as a team and two years making it to the post  season.

We need all of our players  to be at practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in order to take on the Clarington Knights! They can be defeated and we want to make sure that our players are ready.

I know that there have been many questions about the Orangeville/TNT regular season game that has yet to be played.  Unfortunately, the OMFL has not responded to  mine or any other peoples questions with regards to this, so all I know is what the site says that it is to be played.  North Bay plays Clarington, Orangeville plays TNT in the semis.  The winners of these two games will go to the finals in Etobicoke on Sunday August 7th.

The address for Clarington Fields is 2375 Base Line Road West, Bowmanville.  It is a 3.5 hour drive if you use Highway 12.

Kickoff is at 11 am.  We are going to arrive at the filed around 9:30 am for those not taking the bus, please meet there then.

We are asking kids to be at the bus by 5:30 am and the second everyone is there we will leave to get there as soon as possible.  Regardless the bus will leave by 6 am.

If your child is not taking the bus down, please respond to this email so we are not waiting for you.

If your child is unable to make the game, please let us know ASAP so we can make the appropriate changes at practices this week.

Clarington has a BBQ, no gate fee, pets are allowed and no washrooms, just port a potties.

GO BULLDOGS!!  Work hard this week!  You got this!

Junior Varsity 2016 Playoff Game

Congratulations to our Junior Varsity team on being the regular season champions

It’s crucial that each and every player come to practice all week to prepare for the play-offs

1st place has earned the JVs home field advantage.  Due to a soccer tournament, we managed to book Omischl for Sunday at 7 pm. Players are asked to be at the field for 5 pm to prepare and warm up.

We will be having our BBQ once again so will be looking for people to provide desserts.  If you want to volunteer during the game or before or after for set up or take down that would be great as well!

We will hold a 50/50 draw as well!

The gate is $5 per person children 12 and under are free.

For our Bantam players ,we will have your bantam jerseys at the game for so you  can wear it in support during the game and remember they are players they do not pay to get into the game.  It is a great opportunity to come out and cheer on the junior varsity!
