2017 Parent & Player Meeting

Our parent and player information session is on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, for both Bantam and Junior Varsity.  This will be the first opportunity to meet your coaches for the upcoming season.  We will discuss what we as coaches expect from both the players and parents and what you can expect from us as coaches.  This meeting is not mandatory but we strongly encourage anyone with interest in playing summer football to attend as we will be able to answer any questions you might have.  I have also attached the player code of conduct in this post and we require all players to read, sign and return this code of conduct before he or she will be given equipment.  Also attached is the parent code of conduct this does not need to be signed and returned but it clearly states what we expect from parents and fans on the sidelines.

2017 Gym Sessions

It’s that time of year again when we start getting together and working on some football skills while we wait for the fields of snow to melt.  Our gym sessions and times are listed below and will be held at West Ferris Secondary School.

There have been a couple of minor changes to the upcoming in gym sessions and for the parent player information session.  First, the parent player session is still at West Ferris on February 24th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm but is now in the cafeteria as the auditorium is not available because of a NOSSA basketball tournament being held at the school that weekend.

Now because of the NOSSA basketball tournament, the gym is no longer available for our in-gym session on the 25th so we will be starting one week later on March 04, 2017 and the rest of the schedule is listed below.  These in gym sessions are all at West Ferris Secondary School Gym, again please be respectful of the facilities and remove all outside shoes before walking into the gym.

Saturday March 04, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday March 18, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday March 25, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday April 01, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Saturday April 08, 2017  –  Bantam 5:00pm to 6:30  –  Junior Varsity 7:00pm to 8:30pm

If you can’t make the sessions we understand but do encourage all players to attend as many as possible this is where the coaches start the evaluation process and start to see where the player strengths are.  Plus it is always a lot of fun and you don’t want to miss out on the fun and meeting your team for the summer.

There are some important things to remember when attending West Ferris School for these sessions, and that is we are a guest of West Ferris School and as such we must treat all areas of the school with respect by not wearing outside footwear into the gym, please bring inside shoes for all training sessions (there is a place to remove outside footwear when you first enter the gym both parents and players must remove outside footwear).  We must not damage or leave any garbage around when we are done, we must leave the facilities in the same condition we receive them in if not better.

Thank you and see you all soon!!

2016 Youth League Rolling

The North Bay Bulldogs are humbled by the turn out we had to our Youth Football Combine/Camp. It’s always a pleasure to see our young raw athletes come out and have fun learning and executing their very first tackle, block and catch,.

So what happens next? We have one more group practice coming up so keep tabs on our event calendar. After this Tuesday’s group practice the coaches will assemble on the weekend to draft their teams to ensure even and fair distribution of players and talent.  It is with a heavy heart we retire the CFL team structure but in it’s place we are expanding our Bulldog brand (including new jerseys, logos, teams and divisions) – remember we are all BULLDOGS in the end.

Once the teams are created we will then let the coaches rudder their teams and be the central point of contact.

GO BULLDOGS!!!
