2016 – Equipment Hand-Out and On-Field Practice

steve-omischl-sports-complex Saturday April 23, 2016 we will be getting on the field in full equipment.

We will hosting our equipment handout at the Omischl Sports Complex from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Now, we are out of the gym and in full gear the gym practices are making way to field practices. The practice will be on-field from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Omischl Sports Complex and Field. This is for both Bantam and Junior Varsity.

Everyone will need mouth guards and cleats. JV’s will need girdles Bantams will not as they will have the integrated pants. Any questions, let me know!

Again very important to get registrations in before we hit the field. I will need a headshots of each player as well as a picture of your birth certificate or health card. These can be emailed to Christa at christa@d-linsurance.com or you can bring this Saturday and I can take a photo of it and the player. We have girdles available for JV players for $35 each if you can let me know if you need one and what size I can our inventory.

Bantam Gym Information

Bulldog_BantamI know with the weather we are getting it doesn’t look like we are going to get out on the field anytime soon, but as soon as the snow comes off Omischl we will be hitting the field.  In the meantime I know the practices we have been running on the Saturday nights have not been mandatory practices as we have just been starting to get everyone moving.

As of Saturday April 09, 2016 that will change, as of this Saturday the coaches will start to evaluate the players attending practices to see where their strengths are.  So if you plan on playing this summer, this weekend is time to start attending every practice.  We will start to separate the players into their perspective positions and could start using and explaining our terminology and systems so it is very important that the players start coming to all practices so they don’t fall behind.

As discussed at the parent, player meeting at this level we will strive to get every player that can safely be put on the field some playing time.  However missing practices and not understanding the plays, systems or terminology that we are using will not allow us to put a player on the field.  If you are going to miss practice it is also important to let your positional coach or the head coach know so we can make sure you are caught up when you return.

Last but not least starting Saturday April 09, 2016 if you plan on playing offense please wear a white or yellow t-shirt to practice (QB’s wear red), if you plan on playing defense please wear a navy blue or black t-shirt.  If you are unsure and just want to play wherever you’re needed where the defense colors until told otherwise.

Thank you

Coach Eric

Bantam and JV Gym Sessions

weightliftingThe North bay Bulldogs will be ramping their winter training up in an effort to get ready for the 2016 season. The Gym practices will be held at West Ferris Secondary School in the gym. The Bantam sessions run from 5:30 to 7:30 and then the JV player will start their session. This allows us to get to know the players as well as the players starting to bond with each other, this is a very important part of becoming a team.

The In gym sessions will be postponed until April 2 due to March break and Easter. So there will be no March 12nd, 19th, and 26th sessions

It’s not too late to join the fun and excitement. Register your player here for a summer of Football: Registration Page.

2016 Bantam Information Session

calendar_circleThe 2016 season for the North Bay Bulldogs is quickly approaching and with that it is time to get into the gym and start shaking off that winter rust.  The Bantam team is having an information session for all players and parents.  Remember players you cannot be turning 15 in 2016 in order to be eligible to play Bantam, if you are turning 15 then you will be playing at the JV level.

The information session will be held at West Ferris Secondary School on February 2, 2016 from 7pm to 8:30pm in the Auditorium, all parents and players are encouraged to attend as this will give you an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the program.  It will also give you a chance to meet the coaches for the season, I am very excited about the coaches that have committed their time to the program this year.

That same week we will be starting our in Gym practices for Bantam as well, the practices will be once a week until the snow is off the field.  This allows us to get to know the players as well as the players starting to bond with each other, this is a very important part of becoming a team
