JV Bulldogs Win Big

jvvseaglesAfter securing their second win last week the rested and ready Junior Varsity Bulldogs were unleashed on the Etobicoke Eagles dispatching the southern team 38-6. The Junior Varsity Bulldogs took their grinding style to the Etobicoke Eagles and the attrition took its toll as the Eagles were forced to concede late in the game due to the number of injuries they sustained. The North Bay Bulldogs wish the Eagle’s injured players a speedy recovery.

The June 6th game was a pivotal game for the Bulldogs as both the Dogs and the Eagles were sitting with a 2 – 1 record. The winner goes to 3 – 1  and the loser goes to 2 – 2. We have a great program with excellent coaches that are teaching the kids skills and teamwork within the context of the game of football. These kids are all buying into our program and the football we are putting out is good. We are facing our biggest test this coming Saturday as we are hosting the defending Champions, the Orangeville Outlaws, at Omischl.

The June 6th ’15 weekend had the kids excited to play, having missed an opportunity last week with the defaulted game by the Steelers. This game showed that we have a coaching staff that can adjust during the game and kids are hungry to learn. We didn’t cave after the quick score by the Eagles. The players are learning the value of unselfish teamwork. The Bulldogs are in a position to make the playoffs this year for the first time ever

Congratulation to our ferocious JV players on another victory. Event link is here with a gallery for the event.

2015 Bantam Game 3

Bantamvstnt_final

The TNT Express defeated the North Bay Bantam Bulldogs at Rollie Fischer field. The Bantam Bulldogs battled as a cohesive unit on both sides of the ball through injuries and a diminished roster but their opponents, the TNT Express, emerged with the win.

The 1 – 1 Bantam Bulldogs fell behind early to the TNT Express trailing 24 – 0 at the half. The second half was strong for the Bulldogs as they completed an outstanding 40 yard pass with Carson Cleator on the receiving end of the pass. The Bantam Bulldogs followed that great play with a 28 yard run by Trey Anthony to get the Bantam Bulldogs on the board. In the end the Bantam Bulldogs fell to the powerful TNT Express by a score of 42 – 6.

2015 Bantam Game 2

Bantamvsjets

Bulldog’s embattled, but steadfast, defense and the Toronto Jets relentless offence are the true story of the game. The Bulldog defense held the line but the Jets scratched yard after yard to push to the end zone. The Bulldog offense made big plays and fought hard but couldn’t stay on the field to mount a serious counter attack on the scoreboard.

The visiting Toronto Jets fired the first salvo scoring a touchdown in the first quarter. The Jets executed a quick pass play to add a conversion for the extra two bringing the score to 8 – 0. An early second quarter rush gave the Jets another touchdown and a conversion for 2 points put the jets up 16 – 0. A defensive onslaught by the Jets saw the visitors post points for a safety at the end of the second. The Jets pressure yielded them another touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter but their extra point was foiled by a steady and undeterred defensive front.  24 – 0 in favor of the Toronto Jets. A ferocious rally put the Bulldogs on the board with a touch down 6-24 reigniting the home town crowd.  The Toronto Jets, yet again, fought back with a couple of  touchdowns  sealing the game at  36 – 6  for the visiting Toronto team.

2015 Game 3 – JV Bulldogs Win by default

jv_game_steelers

Hello everyone! It is with some disappointment that I must report to you all the due to events taking place in Hamilton affecting a number of their players, that they must default their game against us tomorrow.

We only recently got this news and I know this is with great disappointment to all our volunteers, coaching staff and players who have all worked very hard to make tomorrow a huge success. I can say that our players are very ready to play and we must refocus our energies to the Etobicoke Eagles next week.

In lieu of a game tomorrow, the JV team will get yellow jerseys for offense and blacks for defense and we will hold a scrimmage at 3 pm and we will go for 1.5 hours. We will keep stats for this scrimmage and will film it so we can prepare a practice plan to ready ourselves as best we can for the tough opponent we face next week.

We ask that all JV players come to the first game at 1pm and bring $5 for BBQ lunch and let’s turn our focus on making the Bantam game the feature game for this week and we’ll provide all the support we can muster for them as they chase their 2nd game.

After the Bantam game the JV players will prepare for their scrimmage. JV players nursing an injury are expected to be at the Bantam game and to help out with the JV scrimmage, but will not be involved in contact.

Lets take this unfortunate event and turn it into a positive by providing unforgettable support for our Bantam team and take advantage of the field time to prepare for Etobicoke. Sooo the JV team is now 2 wins – 1 loss! Let’s build on that!
